His side special is basically Green Missile but with homing capabilities, and his up special is basically Super Jump Punch with a sweet spot at the end instead of the start. The second theme is stealing moves from Luigi, with modifications more fitting of a cheater. He has kind of a slippery feel to him in general, and he packs some bizarre moves like an up air that spikes and a Mario Party dice block that acts like G&W’s Judge (very fitting of Mario Party).

There are two themes running with Waluigi, with the first being pure wackiness. He takes a fair bit of inspiration from MKHT’s famous Waluigi Brawl mod, including a lot of movements and basic attack animations, but he still has a lot to his own in SSF2. No one was truly expecting what his moveset would be during the build-up, but he really delivers. Let’s not forget about Waluigi, perhaps the most anticipated of the six new characters.

But once the next big update releases, you’ll have to do a little digging to find their unlock methods. Just know as a side note that they’re all supposed to be unlockable, but for Beta 1.2 they’re all available from the start. They’ve all been covered extensively in trailers and content creators videos, but I’ll talk about them anyways. In terms of new playable characters, Beta 1.2 features a hefty six of them, including two Smash veterans and four brand new fighters. Let’s start with the most obvious place to start. What content will be in these bimonthly updates? Will the cycle stick around for 1.3? We don’t know yet, but for now we can look forward to a continuous stream of updates in the near future!Īnd with that out of the way, let’s get into the actual content! Another update is coming in March, and starting from there, we’ll be getting a new update every two months. Updates won’t take a century to release anymore.

Some pieces of content (namely a couple of Final Smashes) either lack polish or are missing altogether and are to be finished up in future updates.Ģ. Beta 1.2 is actually being released before it’s complete. However, with the rotation release cycle, this is no more! This means two important things:ġ. As most of us are aware, the wait for 1.2 (and even 1.1 and especially 1.0) was grueling to say the least, and important pieces of content had to be finished before everything could come out at once. The rotation release cycle is the new name the developers are giving to the way this game is getting updated from here on.
